Frankly speaking Friday - Invest in yourself

This month on Frankly Speaking Friday we had Ms. Asha Daniel, an image consultant who spoke on “Invest in yourself”. And no, this was not just another session on family investments and policies that every corporate individual would hear about. It is about the most important aspect of every individual, which has mostly been ignored or least prioritized.

How many of us actually spend a considerable amount of time in front of the mirror every morning? Five minutes or ten minutes??!

Few may not even bother to look at the mirror and all we want is to make sure that we are not late to work or college and we don’t miss our bus or train. No matter where we go every morning, we are always in a hurry!

Ms. Asha who holds eighteen years of experience in corporate etiquette training took the influx team through image building and how important it is in today’s corporate environment. The session threw light on what is image building and what is it that the corporate world is looking for in every individual.

Image building is not just about the clothing we wear or the accessories that we match to it. It is beyond all that which includes our body language and mannerisms. Ms. Asha quoted a few real life scenarios where many individuals have failed to grab their opportunities because of poor image and grooming.

Companies have missed out on huge projects just because of this small issue which we all tend to ignore. “An individual’s image also reflects on the company’s image he/she is working for,” added Ms. Asha.

She also highlighted that in today’s competitive world, a company’s image has to be built and maintained not just through the delivery of its product or service but also the employees’ image and etiquette.

It was truly an enlightening session for the team as this is something that we would not tend to ignore and will include it as part of our efforts to raise the standards of Influx.
